Security
We believe that there's no higher priority than keeping your confidential personal information private. That's why we use the most up-to-date Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology possible across our entire network.
Developed by Netscape Communications Corporation, SSL, or digital Web certificates, are the industry-standard for protecting web communications. The SSL security protocol provides data encryption, server authentication, message integrity, and optional client authentication for a TCP/IP connection. Because SSL is built into all major browsers and web servers, simply installing a digital certificate turns on their SSL capabilities.
About SSL
Commonly, most websites display a small lock icon on the bottom left or right of your Web browser as an indication that you have reached an SSL-protected page. Although MyWebATM uses this SSL technology throughout our site, you will not see this icon in your browser. The reason for this is that our secure Web forms are presented using i-frame technology, which means they appear as separate pages within a larger, non-secure http page.
To confirm that the forms you are using are, in fact secure, you can do the following:
- Right-click in the form box and select 'Properties' from the menu
- Click this to open the Properties window, shown below
- The address will begin with https://, as shown above, confirming that you are on an SSL-protected page
